healthy, tasty recipes

Each program consists of its own weekly theme and activities, so your child has something new to look forward to each week.

everything included

No need to bring food or cooking kits, and we cater to all dietary requirements — so everything and
everyone is included. Although you may want to bring a food container along in case there’s any delicious leftovers to take home!!

CLASSES FOR 2- 11 YEAR OLDS

Our programs are curated for two different age groups, so every lesson offers the right level of engagement for your little chef.

Grow their food confidence

Each cooking session is an opportunity for your child to embrace a new challenge. Through hands-on learning, your child is more likely to remain engaged and to build upon their life skills for the future. Children are much more inclined to try new foods that they have created themselves!!

Activities you can work on together

While our programs encourage your little ones to become budding little chefs , they also include opportunities for you to work and play together.

bake and shake after school sessions

Our Bake and Shake sessions are exactly what you’d think they were from the giveaway title !!

The sessions consist of a cooking class and some fun physical activities, for example, sports, dancing and games.

The children will start by preparing a simple, healthy meal.  While their food is in the oven, they will head to the school gym or hall to run off some energy and have fun with one of our coaches, which may vary week to week. We use dance teachers, sports and fitness coaches and sometimes even a yoga teacher!  There is something for everyone.

Once their creations are cooked, they will return to the kitchen area where they will all eat their food as a group. Hopefully they will clear their plates as they will have worked up an appetite!! Children also generally want to try the food they have prepared themselves. Any leftover food will be sent home with them.

We introduce some gentle nutritional advice and include some quiz questions on cooking, healthy eating, and where our food comes.  Our enriching programme is designed so the children can all succeed. They will be developing their skills in the kitchen which they can carry forward into adult life.

We will provide a folder for each child with all of the recipes we cook and any quizzes / nutritional information we have done in the class. They will be able to take these home at the end of term.

school holiday clubs and activities

We have successfully delivered multiple school holiday cooking and activity programmes.

We have delivered cooking sessions which are fun, practical and informative. All of the children cook and eat the food they make from scratch.  We only have healthy ingredients in our wraps and pasta pots.

An example of the foods we make are, healthy breakfasts, vegan banana pancakes, salads, pizzas, toad in the hole, scones (no sugar) and healthy packed lunches.   We also have snacks provided for the children of rice cakes, fruit and veg sticks, toast, cereals and fruit muffins.

The recipes we make with the children prove to be very successful with both with the children and their parents or carers. The recipes are fairly simple for the children to follow however are nutritious. The day we take the children on an outing , we get them involved in making up a picnic.

We talk to them about healthy food choices, using the eatwell guide as an example, to involve them in making decisions as to what they think should go into their meals. The children try foods they may otherwise not have access to or have tried before. We offer soft nutritional education by discussing healthy food and what each food group enables us to do. i.e. carbohydrates to give you energy, dairy for healthy bones etc.  We also talk about foods we do and don't like and encourage the children to try new things.  We play games based on the food groups such as a sugar content game for food and drinks.

Recipes are handed out and also emailed to parents at the end of the sessions.
We incorporate a physical side in each session of the programme. For example surfboarding, ice skating, sports games and activities, beach olympics,  dancing, park trips and games.

We  have enriching activities such as mini music schools and animal antics, and also crafts to make and take away with them like pencil toppers, hair slides and bracelet making.

Our dance teachers encourage the children to join in with dancing and games, and also do face painting and hair braiding for the children.

We often have themed days, for example we had an Indonesian cookery demonstration where the children tried the food and got to take some home with them.

We always encourage healthy eating and physical activity every day in our holiday clubs.

pre school cooking classes

SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AGED 1.5-4 YEARS OLD

We run pre school classes in the mornings (10 to 11.30am) and afternoons (1 to 2.30pm).

Our little budding chefs are accompanied by their grown up who will help them make their delicious creations.

We also have arts and crafts at every session along with some music if they feel like having a little dance!! We also provide pre school toys for them to play with. Our classes are very laid back, your little one may want to wander off and play during the session which is absolutely fine.

We often have a themed week where we do activities ie decorating valentines biscuits, colouring in a children in need pudsey bear, seasonal arts and crafts etc.

You will receive a copy of the recipe we make in class to replicate at home and if you bring a food container, you can take home any leftovers your child makes in class.

fussy eaters??

Did you know that children are way more likely to try a food that they have cooked themselves!! We have lost count of the number of parents who come to the sessions insistent that their child wouldn’t even attempt to try the food they’re making…….the next thing they’re sitting enjoying their creations!!

Do you want to do something a bit different for your child’s birthday party? We hold pizza parties where the children make their own pizzas and take part in some dancing or sports and party games. ABOUT US

Hi!! We are Diane and Julia.

We are the founders of Kids’ Kitchen UK Ltd.  We design and deliver all of the cooking sessions. Here is a little bit about us.

Diane has a background in working with the NHS Dietetic Services in North Tyneside, delivering cooking lessons to parents in Children’s Centres. She has delivered accredited cooking courses to Level 1 for parents, along with weaning groups, cooking for your baby, cooking from scratch and fakeaway courses.  She has also provided food activities at toddler groups and events with both the NHS and Groundwork, a charity organisation based in South Tyneside. She volunteered at the Lighten up program (adult obesity) with NTC too. She also has an extensive background in finance and grant monitoring.

Julia has worked in customer care for many years, and travelled the world with her position as a travel agent and cabin crew for a major airline. She has experienced many cultures and religions on her travels, and is keen to make sure our sessions are diverse and inclusive. She has a great rapport with both children and adults. Julia has an HND in Business Studies.

We have backgrounds in our life and work experiences over the years which enable us to work well together and to encourage and support young people and families.

We are both Mothers , Grandmothers and Aunties who love cooking with the little ones.  We have both spent time as single parents, working hard to feed our children on a limited budget. We are both active gym members who follow a healthy life balance of eating well and keeping fit.

We are not chefs, we are home cooks who enjoy adapting recipes to make them healthier.

Here is our TV debut which was filmed in January 2023 …
